Why Buy Ohio County 4-H Rabbits?

  • Support local area youth.
  • Great investment for you or your business for your donation is tax deductible and you get FREE publicity from your generosity.
  • Rabbit meat is low cholesterol, low fat, and high protein, and can be easily substituted in chicken recipes.
  • Rabbits make good pets.  They are good companions.  They don’t require much space.  Rabbits eat hay, rabbit pellets, and small portion of fresh vegetables.


Two ways to purchase Market Rabbit Pens of Three

  • Purchase for Consumption--Purchase the animal and keep it for your own consumption.  The difference between the fair market value of the animals and bid price is considered an advertising expense(tax deduction).
  • Purchase and Donate--Purchase the animal and donate it back to the exhibitors’ 4-H Scholarship Fund (money to be used for future 4-H activities or projects), Ohio County Leader’s Association, or Ohio County 4-H Camp. In this case, the entire amount would be considered an advertising expense or a contribution.

Your business also benefits when you support Ohio County's youth by attending the sale and purchasing animals.

Advertising: By purchasing at least one pen of three, you will be recognized in all publicity materials and media coverage. Buyers also receive a complementary photo of the 4-Her and their animal to display in their business. The photos indicate to others your commitment to Ohio County 4-H youth.

Community Service: When you participate in the sale, you and your business are having a positive effect on the 4-H program, its members, families and volunteers.
