2024 Ohio County Country Fair Queen Responsibilities and Itinerary for Fair
October 4-6, 2024
1. Titlist certifies and/or agrees to the following: I attest that I am a citizen of the United States of America and a legal resident of the State of West Virginia; that I was born a female; that I have never been married, have never had a marriage annulled, or have never given birth to a child or adopted a child. I agree to remain single during my reign, agree not to become pregnant and understand that if either of these occurs this contract will become null and void. I attest that I have reached my 16th birthday by December 31, 2023, and will not have passed my 22nd birthday on or before January 1, 2024; that I am of good moral character; that I have not been convicted of a crime; that I have not heretofore made any legal obligations that would prevent or limit my participation as Titlist, and that I am not the current titleholder nor never have been Miss West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals.
2. I agree that all information provided on my entry form is true and correct.
3. I agree that the manner and method of judging and conducting of the pageant was at the sole discretion of the pageant committee, and I further agree that the decision of the judges is final and binding.
4. I will serve as the Ohio County Country Fair Queen beginning with my crowning on October 1, 2024, and ending with the 2025 Ohio County Country Fair pageant (date to be determined).
5. I agree to be available to attend all events at the 2024 Ohio County Country Fair beginning Friday, October 4, 2024, through Saturday, October 5, 2024, and ending at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2024. I agree to represent the Ohio County Country Fair at the 2025 West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Annual Convention and Pageant in January, 2024 (date to be determined).
6. I understand that the Ohio County Country Fair is promoting a family event and that I agree to dress in good taste at all times (no revealing clothing, no offensive slogans on clothing, etc.) I agree to not appear in public wearing any visible piercings other than earrings. If I have facial or mouth piercings, I agree to remove all of this jewelry when appearing publicly as the Ohio County Country Fair Queen. All other body piercings must be covered at all times while making public appearances. I agree not to color my hair in an unnatural hair color (pink, green, etc.). Any tattoos I currently have must be kept covered, and I agree NOT to get any additional tattoos until my successor has been crowned or appointed. Banner and crown are to be worn during all appearances during the fair. See attachment 1 for fair week responsibilities and expectations.
7. I agree not to incur any debts on behalf of the Ohio County Country Fair.
8. I agree to relinquish any WVAFF titles I now hold other than this particular one. After I have participated in the 2025 Miss West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Pageant, which will be held in Charleston, WV in January 2025, I am free to again start competing in other WVAFF pageants. However, prior to competing in any other pageant (WVAFF or other system), I must obtain written consent from that pageant’s director that, should I win the aforementioned pageant, I may appear as the Ohio County Country Fair Queen at the 2025 West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festival Pageant representing the Ohio County Country Fair and at the 2025 Ohio County Country Fair to crown my successor.
9. Attending any other parades, festivals and pageants are options of the Queen. Should the Queen wish to participate in local area parades, she will be responsible for all arrangements involved with doing so.
10. I certify that I have not participated in any activities, which would be embarrassing to myself and/or the Ohio County Country Fair prior to this agreement. I agree to maintain a reputation of high moral character both in person and in social networking platforms. I also agree that if during my year of reign, I do engage in any such activity, including but not exclusive to being arrested and/or charged with a crime, or having inappropriate, immoral, or illegal content (as perceived by fair officials/pageant director) on social networking sites, the Ohio County Country Fair Board shall have the right to declare my title void, and I will return all prizes and/or awards to the Ohio County Country Fair and the Princess or a designee named by the Fair Board shall be declared my successor.
11. I agree to maintain a positive image on all social media platform. I will refrain from any immoral, illegal, or other acts deemed unbecoming by the Board of Directors.
12. The Ohio County Country Fair will pay for my entry fee and lodging for the 2025 West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen’s Pageant. The fair will provide me with one convention registration for a family member. I will be required to have at least one family member (over age 18) registered to stay in my room during the convention and to serve as my chaperone. Any additional convention and/or pageant tickets for my family and friends must be ordered and paid for prior to the convention deadline which will be relayed to me by the Pageant Director.
13. I agree to hold harmless the Ohio County Country Fair and any of its representatives in case of an accident during the fair or any other appearance as the Ohio County Country Fair Queen/Princess. My parent(s) or guardian (s) will provide any/and/ all medical expenses incurred by myself as Titlist.
14. I agree not to endorse, as the Ohio County Country Fair Queen, any products, companies, organizations, or political candidates, parties, or views either in person, or in print and online environments.
15. If any of the representations and warranties made by me herein prove false, or if I fail to abide by all the terms hereof, or if during the period I hold the title of the Ohio County Country Fair Queen, I conduct myself in a manner which in the opinion of the pageant director and committee does not uphold the dignity and honor of the title and the pageant, then at the option of the pageant committee and at its direction, I herewith agree to forfeit my right to the title and awards, and the Princess or a designee named by the Fair Board shall be declared my successor.
16. In the event that I marry and/or become pregnant during the period of my reign, then at the sole discretion of the pageant committee, I will forfeit my title and all awards, and the Princess or a designee named by the Fair Board shall be declared my successor.
17. If a situation arises and my title is to be declared void/forfeited, the Pageant Director will notify me in writing identifying the terms of the contract violated and then I will have 30 days to return all prizes awarded (cash, crown, sash, etc.) to the Pageant Director. I understand the fair will have the right to take legal action to collect these awards, not to exceed the total value of the prize package.
It is understood the term of the agreement is, Saturday, September 28, 2024, through the fair pageant October, 2025.

All contestants are to arrive dressed in their outfit of choice. Please remember this is a pageant so dress to impress, but remain school appropriate!
Schedule:
Meet and Greet: 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm – Contestants, sponsors and fair board members are invited. (Light refreshments will be provided)
Introductions of contestants: will begin at 3:00 pm
Event Promotion: Following Introductions: Each contestant will do a 30 second to 1 minute promotion of the fair and associated events. Contestants are encouraged to use creativity and originality in this segment of competition.
Interviews: Immediately following introductions
Contestants will be interviewed panel style by three judges at this time. Interviews will be 3 - 5 minutes in length.
Interview questions will range from information from the contestants bio (entry form) to random questions chosen by the judges.
